It allows you to have an asynchronous (with scroll-back) way to communicate with everyone in the company. Plus we have IRC bots to notify about various critical situations - instantly everyone is notified, and they can immediately discuss the issue.</p> <p>It works well.</p> At my workplace, we use IRC for similar purposes.
