Hi, I’m Casey.
I’m the technical 1/2 of Ravelry.com. This is place for me to share stuff related to coding, technology, and the web. .
What sort of things can you expect to read about? The majority will probably be related to developing and running Ravelry - a large community driven web application. Technology will include stuff that I work with every day - Linux, Ruby and Rails, databases, CSS/HTML, Javascript, that sort of thing.

I am going to enjoy reading this! (Understand? not so much :D)
Thank you so much for documenting this! This is even better than sharing your code– teach me to fish like you do!
Very cool, I’ve always been a client/server kinda girl so it is fascinating to read a bit on Ruby.
Thank you and keep it coming!
Casey — if only you had documented your code so well when you were still working for “the man”
Just joking — I continue to learn from you, and so do we all. The next site of your former employer is being written in Rails after your glowing endorsement. We have never looked back.
Sure, I miss spending a week getting a stable version of what seemed like a simple feature implemented in Java and it’s numerous evil step-half-wolf-half-java children. With Rails, I have to spend the extra days creating something new and useful. Way too much thinking about users is involved to make a real developer happy.
Keep writing — you have a great deal to share with the world!
Tom
I nominate you for the cover of Time Magazine. No joke. I love Ravelry.
Hey Casey,
Just came across this blog — very well done! I’m hoping to draw some inspiration here to blog my similar travails over here at Apartment Therapy, where I recently took the technology mantel. Keep it up!
